About True Edge Works
True Edge Works is a small, independent sharpening workshop. It exists for one reason: most knives, scissors and shears are duller than their owners realize, and a genuinely sharp edge changes the way they cut, trim and slice every day.
Every blade is sharpened by hand on water stones. Nothing is dragged across a belt grinder, and nothing comes off a blade that doesn't need to: the existing angle is measured, the bevel is reset grit by grit, and the edge is finished and deburred until it slices cleanly along its whole length. Chips, rolled edges and rust are dealt with as part of the job.
It suits anyone who notices a dull edge — home cooks and professional kitchens, barbers and salons, gardeners, and anyone with a drawer of knives that no longer bite. Kitchen knives, pocket knives and cleavers, serrated knives, scissors, kitchen shears, and specialty pieces such as Damascus blades, single-bevel knives and shop tools are all welcome.
Straight edges are $5 per blade, serrated knives and scissors $10, and anything unusual is quoted before work starts. Requests arrive through the intake form on this site, and the reply comes within one business day with timing and where to drop off or hand over.
Who builds it: the workshop is owner-operated, so the person who answers your request is the person at the stones. Flat pricing per blade, nothing charged until the blades are done, and honest advice when a blade isn't worth the work.
